Episode #3 of Onchain Fire covers the latest news around web 2 and web 3 shooter games. There has been a lot going on recently, so let's get into this week's headlines.
Crypto Walkers
The post-apocalyptic gaming setting is coming up well. The image above is a sneak glance at the church's interior. Game developers are still working on making all guns compatible with rigs and designing the rush game mode. By July, the crew had also begun work on the second biome. Soon, the team will reveal more sneak peaks. Collaboration with Jadu is on the way, as is a staking function in which you may stake your Walkers in return for rewards.
Undead Blocks
Last weekend, we had the opportunity to participate in a $10,000 tournament organized by Undead Blocks and sponsored by Polkastarter Gaming. Check out some of the metrics shown above.
Midnight Society
Midnight Society generated funds for Deadrop, a "vertical extraction shooter," by selling $50 Founders Access Passes that provide players access to six-weekly "snapshot" builds from the game's early phases. The first of them, Snapshot CL 1859, is now available. For the time being, the only individuals who may test them out are the 10,000 players who purchased a Founders Access Pass, which included a randomly created NFT of a character that acts as their in-game avatar. Owners of the Founder Access Pass can download the first snapshot (demo) to explore their hideaway and test an assault rifle over three shooting ranges. More passes and NFTs will be made available in the future.

Boss Fighters VR
Boss Fighters is a forthcoming free-to-play PC vs. VR action game in which one player controls a monster through a VR device, assaulting other players who are playing in third-person perspective on PC and working together to take down the boss in physics-based combat. The game's early access version is set to be released in early 2023. Pixward Games is developing the game, a team of seasoned VR developers with a track record of creating successful VR games for over 5 years. The Rocket Launcher 3D model was presented in the most recent release. You may get additional development information by joining their Discord server.
Battlefield 2042
DICE has announced Update 1.2 for Battlefield 2042, which will include, among other things, the first set of planned map upgrades based on player feedback received earlier this year. This initial batch of updates will target Battlefield 2042's Kaleidoscope map and will, as previously said, focus on cover, intensity, line of sight, pathing, and traversal modifications. These have been accomplished by adding additional flag placements, locating new places and assets around the map, and increasing the terrain. Similar changes will be applied to the other launch maps over time, with Renewal planned to be the following map revamp as part of Season 2, which is set to debut in late August. Specialists have seen an aesthetic overhaul to fit what DICE refers to as players' "style and tone expectations," with the stated goal of better reflecting the "intense scenarios they have encountered." The critical feature enhancements are then capped with a new Player Profile, tracking in-game progress, performance, and data. Update 1.2 was released on August 2nd.
